I didn't know I was going to be there until the end of September. One of my colleagues had to cancel due to family matters, and I got the call. While it was a lot of work with the large car count (I was at The Strip at LVMS from 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and 7:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. Sunday), it was all good. The track did an excellent job of catering the media center. Then there was dinner at Waverly's at the Cannery Thursday and Saturday, McCormick & Schmick's on Friday, and I never saw a bill - it was all paid for. Sunday night, Jegs rented the Christian Audigier night club at Treasure Island for two hours for a private party of about 150 people. I was one of them!
Open bar and a seafood buffet that was terrific! I'd be real surprised if that party cost them less than $20,000.
Our condo at the Grandview was very nice. My colleague has a timeshare at Lake of the Ozarks, and he traded his week there for the Grandview condo. A free apartment! I was really happy when I learned the condo was across the street from South Point. My schedule only allowed for an hour or two of play at South Point Thursday-Saturday, but I was able to play until the early hours Monday morning. Your pictures are a good glimpse of the South Point. It will be a great place for our convention!
