One more idea...
I looked about a year ago and did lots of investigation. I was looking for the best for the least. I really didn't want to spend $3K for a TV set even if it was over 60". I heard about the plasma burn in and plasma was very expensive. I read about the poor black colors with a LCD set. And I also looked at DLP sets but didn't like the idea of replacing a $300 bulb after a few years. I looked at all of them side by side and really couldn't tell the difference as far as picture quality (except Toshiba which was horrible). I finally discovered a new set by Samsung which is a DLP unit but it uses a LED projector that is supposed to last 60,000 hours (that is a looooong time). I got my 61" at a bargain price and just love it. I didn't need one that had to be hung on the wall so the projection TV was OK for me. And the shipped unit only weighed 75 pounds which was manageable. I got my unit online at a place called One Call. Great service and free (or cheap)shipping if I remember correctly. If you buy online watch out for the places that demand insurance. Some of them charge $200 for it and when you ask for details they just tell you that they are self insuring! Good luck and no matter what you buy you will love it!
