Re:JFK's War ? ? ? ? ?
JFK sent us over as advisors to teach the South Vietnamese to turn the tide of the VietCong away. They had already infiltrated the South when I was there. I feel JFK saw beyond the reports that were coming home and wanted to return the troops. The Generals were wanting to engage in a winless war and so they did, asking for more & more troops! (Early 1964) We should have learned a valuable lesson from the French, but didn't! I'm not using this thread as a political thing, but to state, in my opinion, that there was a reason for JFK's death. A few were looking for feather's in their hats, at the cost of 56,000 Lives. When I returned home and thru the following years, I watched in horror as that war unfolded, knowing it was wrong because I had seen first hand, what the Soldiers were up against. Altho hindsight is 100% , We all wish it had never happened!
