A tie in with the WSOP
The WSOP brings players from all over the country and the world. There are both players and spectators. If we could somehow get a booth there for a few days, displaying chips and other casino memorabilia, manned by local members with flyers and info. I don't know:sounds out there I know,BUT.....worth a shot? Along with the booth might even come some TV time even if it is for 60 seconds or a couple of minutes. During the Olympics there is always a blurb about pin collecting,so why not one about chip collecting, especially if the main event is on at the same time as the convention. If you can dedicate 60 seconds to Chris Ferguson slicing a pickle with a card, then I am sure that we could get some kind of TV coverage. You never know...maybe there are a couple of players out there who are collectors as well. TV coverage goes out all over the world. It could be a WOW! It could be an OOPS! But it could really get the hobby and club noticed.
As I am consistently doing antique and collectibles shows,I would gladly volunteer some time if we did this.
