This is very good time of the year to drive out to Red Rock park. Very scenic. If you are in to hiking or a light stroll, it will be very nice. Out that way is Bonnis Springs, also a nice visit at this time of year.

I recommend the Clark County Historical Museum, also good at this time of year, which is out Henderson way. They have homes on display from multiple decades that have been moved there. Very interesting, and... the gift shop has souvenir chips!

When at the South Point, just North (on the same side of the street) is an antique mall that is a several hours visit. Of course the South Point is a several hour visit to explore the multitude of bars! Be sure to check out the piano bar by the Sports Book and deli!

As for a "plan" to see the MGM lions, I've been there 3 or 4 times and have only actually seen them once and, it was like watching a stuffed animal... They were sleeping. You need to be there at a feeding time to see them move.
