sounds like the beginning of "My cousin Vinny" with a little "In the Heat of the Night" and "Mississippi Burning" thrown in. I don't think that this was to be taken seriously. Since those days in the 60's (good grief, over 40 years - 4 decades ago) we're not the same folk, but you can't shake stereotypes that easily can you? I haven't lived here all of my life and I think that I've seen as much or more of those racist attitudes in states above the Mason-Dixon.

That said, I'm a white guy gonna vote for Obama. Don't want to defend it or necessarily convince anyone else to.
