I am thankful for those who have served in our wars, and those who were a POW or MIA. With that being said, Just because McCain was a POW, does that make him more qualified to lead this nation? Just a quick lesson on Economic History...Almost every major depression or recession happened while a REPUBLICAN was leading the country, or happened soon after a republican left office, due to their policies, and left the mess to their successor. As for the current generation, as has been stated in this thread, we have a generation that, for the most part, lacks in common sense and needs instant gratification. I believe this came about from the previous generation who had to work and struggle for what they got...so when they had kids, they spoiled them and gave them everything on a silver platter. Also, fear is being used as weapon against us..that's how they can control and how our leaders could put their agendas in place. Everyone's in shock when Mr.Obama said he wanted to talk with our enemies. Why? Is talking gonna hurt? We've been hard nosed to our enemies, and where's that gotten us? In a war with a nation that really had nothing to do with 9/11. If you wanted to get the people responsible...why didn't we go after the nationality that did it (Saudia Arabia)? Almost all of the hijackers were from there. To me, that's like in WWII, Japan attacks us, and so we go and invade Tibet. Would have that made sense? NO! But yet look at what happened. Some people knew as early as 2000 that Bush was gonna attack them. They knew that he wanted to "Avenge his daddy". If we were so wanting the Iraqis to be free as Bush is now saying, how come we turned our backs on them after Desert Storm, and allowed Saddam to stay in power? These are interesting items to ponder. And, before anyone says that I don't love this country, I do!! I served her for 5 years (US Army "WHHOOORAH!!"...I just don't love our Government, which is controlled by money and greed and special interests.
