to Bill Purcell, but I thought it important to point out that under the current process there is no guarantee that an OTY candidate will become an OTY Nominee. When eligible members submit candidates (up to five different recommendations per OTY category) only the top ten get listed as OTY Nominees.

There has been no discussion (yet) to alter that part of the OTY process, which by the way, I would not be in support of. However, unless there is such a discussion and a subsequent modification, it remains that there is no guarantee that any submitted candidate will be be listed as an OTY Nominee, i.e., one of ten to vote for.
