I inherited this Ivory set in 1970. It was owned buy my Grandmothers second husband who died in the 1920s. I used it for building blocks as a child. My mother received it in the 50's and I received it in 1970 and I have had it ever since. I played poker with it for over 10 years. I would still use it to play but no more home games. So I guess it was 1970 when I got my first cool chips 38 years ago. Within a few years I started looking for more ivory and clay chips. When people ask when I started collecting chips, I just say the early 70s
