He "ASKED" you not to....he didn't "TELL" you that you couldn't.

If I ask you not to be so over-the-top when you reply to someone's post who you don't agree with, I am not infringing on your freedom of speach. I am appealing to your better nature. Just like the the original poster did when he "asked' you to take the pledge.

Pledge means to promise or bind. It implies affirmation by the party taking the pledge. I don't think you misread the post subject line. You just have a mistaken view of its meaning.

If you can't comprehend this basic difference, it is not even worth debating.
