Bidders will become more scarce
in the next few weeks when eBay implements it's new Paypal only policy.
I think that no matter what eBay says, there are countless individuals who will not succumb to the pressure of joining Paypal, especially the casual bidders who just want to bid on more common chips, lapel pins, hockey or baseball cards, room keys, or any other small but fun hobby in the $1.00 to $5.00 range. Some may scoff at the sellers who deal in that range, but to many individuals, that may be their only source of income to help pay bills, or help out around the home with bills, food etc. PLUS...for all of the chippers who wish to sell those same common chips,eBay/Paypal's fees are going to cut them out. It is a shame.
I have a disabled friend who supplements his income by selling lapel pins.He has been a member of eBay for almost 9 years and has over 20,000 positive feedbacks to his credit. He does a ton of work to make his small profit and even gets his two younger children to help him so that they can learn a bit of business sense, and now Paypal/eBay policy will probably destroy his business as he is going to have to charge more to pay the fees, but really cannot, as he is at the max of what he can charge now. Sad.
