I said nothing about being a POW qualified one for sainthood. Those who were POWs were such in service to their country. Their treatment was extremely cruel and I do not consider it a joking matter any more than I would consider the Rape of Nanking, the Holocaust, the rape and torture of German citizens by Red Army troops at the end of WW2, the cruelty toward black people in this country, and the torture and slaughter of American Indians by whites and of whites by American Indians joking matters. (Forgive the run-on sentence.
I think it is in bad taste to make light of a person's experience in any of those circumstances. Cruelty is not funny!
