Say I create a post that said NCR - FOOD FOR THOUGHT, and inside I posted that the last 5,000 who were found to have breast cancer were all found to have eaten food sometime in the past 5 years. Therefore, our American farmers must be vilified because they grow food!! What I've posted is entirely true. Chances are, those 5,000 people have eaten food at some point. Farmers grow food. But it's so big of a leap, Evil Knievel just called and said "If I can't jump Snake River Canyon, what makes you think I would try this one?" (BTW, I live only a few hours from the spot he tried to jump. It's a fairly monsterous canyon to say the least).
I also don't believe anywhere when I said I come out here to read about chips and relax did I say I ONLY come out here to read about chips and relax. I've watched the back & forths between the Angels fans, Dodgers fans, Red Sox fans, and Cubs fans. At least they are kind enough to write "Hey, how about my Angels!" after they write NCR. It's a common courtesy they've posted to warn you "Hey, this posting is going to be about baseball. If you're not into baseball, you might not venture into this thread."
Posting Food For Thought could be about anything. The thread about Sleep Apnea was awesome. The postings about those affected by Hurricane Ike have given me names to attach to the numbers I hear about on my news. But I think it is irresponsible to post a Food For Thought posting without adding a "this is about politics" afterward. I clicked on the thread because what if it's about Sleep Apnea, or baseball, or a new brand of shoes or slippers that he's found.
I've ended up more than a few evenings all miffed because of these kinds of postings. And guessing from a few responses here, I'm not the only one. All I'm asking is please, in the subject line, state this is a politically driven thread. Give me the choice to decide if it's something I want to click on or not.
