Even though the price of oil...
has dropped over $50 a barrel, the gas up here has not dropped down as much or as fast as it had risen during the so called oil/gas crisis.During the peak it went up nearly 40 cents a litre(about $1.50 a gal),but, even though prices have dropped oil wise, our gas has only dropped about 10 cents a litre
Let's face it,the oil and gas companies want us to get used to high prices. If there is even a rumor of some strife or potential disaster, gas goes up immediately. When the "threat" is over, they refuse to drop back their prices and they always have some inane excuse as to why it takes so long for the prices to go down a fraction of what they raised.
Take today for example. The gas is already in the tanks yet we have to pay 40 cents more, and we are up here in British Columbia??? Right.
No matter what....I hope that all goes well with our friends in the hurricane zone. Ike will be hitting land in less than an hour. GOOD LUCK ALL!!!
