ncr--old pictures grin

Looking for a picture of the El Rancho Vegas windmill, toppling in flames, I pulled out my favorite Las Vegas "picture" book grin . Scanned some other pictures I thought y'all might enjoy... grin (I'm sure I've posted a few of them before, but I don't remember which ones...sorry!)

El Rancho Vegas in 1940, under construction (opened april 3, 1941)

A couple of postcards that I showed not long ago

The El Rancho Vegas dancers performed at the ERV during the 1940's and 1950's. I believe there's a mural of these dancers on a building in the arts district.

The ERV "chuck wagon". Signs above the buffet announce that coffee is no charge, and breakfast is on the house from 4:15-6:30 a.m.

A fire started in the early morning hours of June 17, 1960. The ERV was totally destroyed.

Later on the morning of the fire
