As a former Trump Marina employee and an Atlantic City chip collector I have mixed feelings about LE issued by in my case the Trump properties. When I was there (93-99),the Marina had a huge problem with purveyors being paid on time if at all. Being a Chef, it was very difficult because we had no leverage with our distributures and they pretty much had us by the b@lls. I remember we were issued 1 dozen steak knives per month in the Steakhouse because we could not afford any more than that. Try running a gourmet restaurant when your budget was 12 steak knives a month. I was very disturbed that we spent so much time and money turning out LE chip after LE chip. I believe that if the Marina spent half the amount of time and efforts into their Marketing and Sales campaigns the property would not have been so cash strapped. The casinos and the companies that own them are there to make money and I think we as collectors sometimes forget that fact. LE chips are fun to look at and to collect but they should not be on anyone's (casinos) top ten things to do lists. Just my take!!
