because they spent $40,000,000,000(that's BILLION) dollars on their Olympics!
Vancouver is hosting in 2010 and has a $1,500,000,000 budget.
I love watching the Olympics but think of all of that money and what it could could be used for especially in China where there are so many poor people.
However...on that note...you just have to have loved that US Spain basketball game huh?
