When I approach a table that has no pricing whatsoever visible to me, I just look things over and then keep walking. The practice of not labeling their merchandise forces the person shopping their table to ask about each and every chip they might find mildly interesting. As a shopper, I feel like they didn't label their merchandise for one of the following reasons:
1. They think it's too precious to put a price on.
2. They intend to set the price depending on who asks.
3. They are going to pull out one of the out-of-date chip guides and quote me a price from it.
4. They only want to be shopped by "serious" collectors who don't care about price.
5. They were too busy (or lazy) to label their merchandise.
Whatever the reason, I wonder if these same dealers are the ones complaining about lack of sales.
Does anybody else find this practice irritating or am I just turning into an old grouch?
