Definately "South Point" (no "e")...

Without getting to Jean or Primm, it is the furthest south major casino on Las Vegas Blvd., until The M opens in 2009.

I agree, very nice place. Owner and operated by Michael Gaughan, "Michael's" was moved, lock, stock and barrel from the Barbary Coast and certainly rounds out a fairly good selection of restaurants. There is also an Arena (mostly for equestrian events), a large bowling alley, Century multi-plex theater, poker room, Convention space and a recently added tower that provides the needed rooms for their Arena events and/or Convention events.

It is operated much as The Orleans was run in the pre-Boyd days, but that is probably because the situation of Michael Gaughan giving back his Boyd stock in-trade for the South Coast property (probably a bit more complicated than that) and re-naming it SouthPoint and taking 200 (or so) hand-picked employees.

Interesting that the door pulls still have "SC" and the Paycheck Party slot tokens are the South Coast versions. Because the South Coast was on the Coast Casinos slot card system, member numbers at the SouthPoint, for some, are the same as their number at Coast Casinos.

With respect to the restaurants, I like Don Vito's (Italian, duh!) and they have a relish to die for!
