I think over-all career peformances are what athletes should be judged by, more than longevity. Not that longevity shouldn't be factored in there somewhere. But when looking at both Carl Lewis and Lance Armstrong, both had longevity, as well as raising to the very top level of their respected sports. That's my humble opinion, anyway.
