CATALOG numbers on the Caribbean ChipGuide use this scheme:

CASINO CODE - 2 or 3 letters
TYPE - nothing for CHIPS, R for roulettes, T for tokens or a code of up to 5 characters, like MATCH for matchbooks or TRAY for ashtrays
DENOM (for items with a denomination, chips, tokens, jetons, plaques, etc.)
SUFFIX - usually a letter to differentiate when there is more than type of item from the same casino

Examples
The first $1 chip from the El San Juan casino in Puerto Rico has the catalog# of ESJ-1a
The second matchbook from the Crystal Palace in the Bahamas has the catalog# of CP-MATCH2
The third $1 token from the El Casino in the Bahamas has the catalog# of ELC-T1c
