Re: NCR Advice needed - record lp, ep and 45s (vin
Hi Mike. I recently bought one of those USB turntables to transfer all my 80s 45s & albums, and I found the program that cames with those turntables are complete crap. So be very careful when you use it. I believe mine came with AudioSoap. I purchased a program called MAGIX Audio Cleaning Lab, and I have gotten MUCH better results using it. It seems to eliminate the cracks & pops in a much cleaner fashion.
When I was working in radio during the 80s, most of the record companies would send the 45s & albums in an envelope with two thin pieces of cardboard, but made sure they had it stamped FRAGILE. I think we ended up with one or two broken 45s, but considering we had 20 sent to us in a week, one or two a year was a pretty good track record (so to speak).
You will appreciate the extra space when the albums are gone, and your back will also appreciate not having to carry those boxes of albums anymore also! Cale
