This is not as bad as some that have been reported lately - like having loved ones die - but it is still traumatic for my daughter. As I was eating supper while on my way home from the worlds longest yard sale my daughter calls me and is kind of laughing about this idiot whose car is on fire in her yard. The guy driving was apologyzing to her about bailing out and letting the car run into her yard but he really had no choice since the car was really on fire. No big deal. But then she calls back 5 minutes lately and is crying and saying that all of the vinyl siding on the front of her house is melting off. It took the fire department 20 minutes to get there since the fire truck was out on another call. The fire left a 30 foot diameter burn mark, melted most of the siding off the front of the house, burned a lot of the landscaping, etc. Fortunately the house itself never caught on fire and I managed to get her to move her car before it was damaged. The guy has insurance BUT they said it may not be covered. If she has to use her homeowners insurance then she will be responsible for the $500 or $1000 deductible. I forgot to mention that this is a house she bought about 3 weeks ago and we are not quite done with the rehab work on it yet. Geeeez.
