The "Search Team"....
In Response To: Pop's Oasis / Nevada Landing ()

Jim,

While you and I will share article writing credits for Parts I and II of this adventure over two issues of the Club's magazine, I just wanted everyone to know that it was your persistent and dedicated efforts that lead to the authorization to go to the site and search for artifacts that will now go to the ccgtcc Museum of Gaming History. Casey and I are grateful to be a part of the Search Team, and aside from the "adventure" of looking for artifacts, this sure gave me a new appreciation of digging holes in the desert around Las Vegas, if you know what I mean? vbg

As we discussed, I am posting one of the photo's taken at the site. The remainder will be published in the Part II article, along with the details of what was recovered and some of the process you went through to secure permission to be there. I can only hope, that in the several months before Part II goes to press, that you might also hear back from Peter A. Simon, II, son of Peter "Pop's" Simon, who's stories are somewhat detailed in the Part I article. (Several attempts have been made to contact him.) It would certainly be nice for his commentary on the events of 1979 (when the Pop's Oasis chips and tokens went into the Nevada Landing foundation) to be included!

Thanks are also extended to Mike Skelton for Museum of Gaming endorsement and of course to the BoD for ccgtcc affiliation to this eandevor!

Thanks Jim for including us,

Jim Follis and Casey Focazio-Follis
