take the scenic route. Drive over by Lake Okanagan - visit all the nice wineries and pick up a few bottles for your friends at the convention (I like the nice little bottles of Ice Wine). Then over to Revelstoke and up over the Rockies past Lake Louise and Banff and turn south down through Glacier National Park (US). Continue on down through Idaho where you can stop in Ketchem & Sun Vally where these beautiful chips were used. You can spend the night in Wells, NV - great little town with lots of history - and then motor on down to Vegas. We made that trip in reverse a few years ago - actually made it out to Victoria - my wife wanted to go to Sooke - her Great Uncle was the first Lighthouse Keeper there - nice place!!!!
