I agree with Mitchell...

My Fav BBQ joint (because of their sauce would be Bryants). They have a restaurant at the Ameristar Casino. Ameristar also has a nice poker room too. Their $3/$6 limit game is usually played with a full kill. Sometimes they have a $15/$30 limit game going. For no limit I've seen them have a $1/$2, $2/$5 and once I played on a $1/$2 NL with a $5 minimum bring in. My wife and I have been going to the Great Plains restaurant quite a bit lately. Kind of pricey but our last three meals there have been great.

Right now Harrah's has the busiest poker room in the city. I also think it's the best room too. Saturday night their bad beat poker jackpot was hit. I believe it was up around $350,000 and hadn't been hit since Dec 17th. I just got back from playing at Harrah's tonight and the current bad beat jackpot is already at $238,000. (Tonight I won $475 in about two hours of play on a $1/$2 NL game - I flopped set a of 7's, another guy flopped a set of treys and the 3rd guy had pocket KK). Harrah's offers a $3/$6 limit, $1/$2 NL and $2/$5 NL. On Harrah's website they list a tournament for each night of the week but because their cash games been so busy lately with the bad beat jackpots being so high, they've been cancelling their evening tournaments. Harrah's also has a great Saturday morning 10am tournament for only $30. Get there EARLY to register for that. I played in it a couple weeks ago and it has a nice structure. 20 minute levels (with table shufflers) but we started with 3k in chips if memory serves me correctly. For the cash games, many times they will have a long list going in order to get on a table. Even though they are busy, the good news is that you can call the room ahead of time (816) 460-5053 extension zero and ask to have your name put on whichever cash game lists that you want. You have 30 minutes to get there or they pull your name off. Make sure you check in at the poker desk when you get there. Really nice they allow that.

The last poker room in Kansas City is at the Argosy. They have a small poker room and not much action there.

Jack Stack BBQ in overland park is awesome too.
