B/D or D/B new monograms for sale. Your initials?

I just picked up these unusual chips. I'll sell a white or red for $6 postpaid, or a set of red-white-blue for $11 postpaid.

* new find -- rather unusual design of the "B" and "D" monograms.

* each chip has a "B" on one side, and a "D" on the reverse.

* rather scarce. I have only 10 of the blue chips and most of those have burns and other problems.

* each chip has the embossed "C" rim mold on each side. In the picture above, on a white chip, I have scored the "C" mold with the edge of a pencil to highlight the embossed "C" design. This mold was used mostly in the very early 20th century, mostly associated with the Chicago gambling supply house, H. C. Evans and Co.

* the inlay is rather small (about 3/4" in diameter), while the typical inlay on a poker chip is 1" diameter. The diameter of the chip itself is the standard 1-9/16."

The embossed "C" mold chip also appears in a c.1900 Harris Co. catalog and a 1909 Evans catalog. The most recent Evans catalog I found with the mold is a 1929 one. The Evans catalog proclaims that "the large Casino C is an exclusive Evans' design.." The Harris Co., Brooklyn NY, catalog said the "C" was for "club." It proclaimed that the chip gives a club a "distinctive poker check which cannot be duplicated by any other manufacturer, and will prevent ringers." Jim Blanchard says H. E. Mason & Co. once owned the mold. Return privileges.
