My new toy

Most of you have probably seen my laptop at the convention. It is huge. I don't know what I was thinking when I bought it. It is great for setting up in a motel room and leaving it parked, but to just pull it out and use it in a car, on a plane, or in a Dr.'s office is a real pain. It's just too big to be "handy".

I've been spending a LOT of time in Dr.'s offices lately, many times I will be there for several hours. I noticed that most of them seem to have free wireless internet access available. I have been noticing these ASUS Eee PC's for some time now but never was real interested because they ran Linux and had teeny tiny drives in them. Just a couple weeks ago they came out with a new model, the 1000h. It is bigger than most, but still very tiny, only 10.5" wide and 7.5" deep. It comes with XP, and 80gb hard drive, built in Wi-Fi and a battery that really does last 4 - 7 hours.

The original price on them was $649, but Newegg and a few other places dropped the price to $549 for a couple weeks. I decided to get one to take on Dr.'s visits with me. I LOVE this thing! It is fast and works just great! It will save me many many hours of boredom. Anyway, if you are looking for a tiny, cheap laptop, you really ought to check this out. Here is a link to a review.
