I'm not saying you are ripping off the buyer nor are you attempting to pull a fast one on the buyer.
I'm saying the sheer cost-to-benefit ratio when compared to the actual risk of losing a package makes it a ripoff. To pay $1.50 to insure a package worth $15.00 is silly in my opinion. When given the option, I would gladly turn down that cost.
You make think otherwise. That's fine. No harm done. We can agree to disagree on it.
Gosh I hesitate to even go down this road... You mentioned "sprung the charges up after the auction ended". From what I read now about their transaction, it sounds like Josh did offer insurance after the fact on the insurance. The auction clearly stated shipping only to the United States. Rick lives in Cananda. So maybe that prompted the offer of insurance? Who knows. I'm not here trying to defend anyone. I can only name maybe three times that I met Josh so I don't know what the motivation was. (once at a cinco drawing/raffle that I had, maybe once at a dealer table, and couple years ago I believe he was chatting with Andy and I was standing nearby). Outside of that, I don't know him or even Rick for that matter. I think I'm done with this thread. Put a fork in me!
