Let's just make it simple so that we can compare:
Given:
Example #1:
I bid $1.00 and win the auction, I have to pay $4.00 for that $1.00 chip. Yikes!
Example #2:
I bid $1.00 and win the auction, now I can choose what to do... hum... Do I pay $4.00 for that $1.00 chip or do I gamble myself on it and get it for $2.50. The seller is a club member so I feel like I can trust him. I like how $2.50 sounds, so I take the risk myself on it.
What's so hard to understand about that?
Now let's say the chip gets lost in the mail. This is where is where the REAL debate is at... I personally wouldn't go back and ask for a replacement even though we have some legal folks here that indicate I could do so.
If I win 20 auctions like that and every time I get my chip in the mail... I saved $30.00. Sounds good to me...
