The Chip Rack Is Back, Bigger and Better
Las Vegas, NV—The Chip Rack—A Price Guide to the Casino Chips and Checks of Nevada has been sold to SCS Publishing. The Chip Rack is the leading source of information for collectors of Nevada casino chips. Detailed descriptions of more than 20,000 chips; house, roulette, baccarat, poker, commemorative and limited edition, make it the most comprehensive guide book available. Over 900 Nevada casinos are listed.
“When I started collecting Nevada casino chips over 30 years ago, the hobby had no reference book for thousands of casino chips that were issued and used by casinos throughout the state of Nevada,” states Michael Knapp, one of three founding authors of The Chip Rack. “We researched, then listed, numbered, described and assigned values for every chip known. We are pleased that The Chip Rack will be taken forward in the enthusiastic and capable hands of SCS Publishing.”
SCS Publishing is owned by Jay Sands, Vice-President of the Casino Chip & Gaming Token Collectors Club Inc., and Senior Vice President of International Operations for Sony Pictures Releasing International, David Spragg, Webmaster and Auction Chairman of the Casino Chip & Gaming Token Collectors Club Inc., and owner of Marlow Casino Chips, and Len Cipkins, Casino Chip & Gaming Token Collectors Club Inc., Life Member, and President of Publicity Solutions.
“I have been an avid chip collector for over 15 years and, early on, Nevada chips in particular piqued my interest. They have always been the most popular and valuable chips because Nevada was the first state with legalized gambling and has the richest history of any gaming jurisdiction in the entire world,” states Jay Sands. “We are committed to grow the hobby through education and information and eventually making The Chip Rack available on-line, via the internet, with up-to-the-minute news, information and quantities of new issue and obsolete chips, and most importantly with values based upon current documented sales thru eBay and other on-line auction sites, area chip auctions and dealer sales.”
The 11th edition of The Chip Rack will be published in 2009.
