As for date codes on postcards, Curt Teich are the only ones I know how to date:
First two characters provide the date:
A=1930
B=1940
C-1950
D=1960
The number that precedes the letter indicates the year. So...1D would be 1961. The older cards had the date code, hyphen, image code. On an older card, I suspect yours would have looked like D1-1584.
(Further examples, 'cuz I'm NOT good at explaining this: 2A=1932, 4C=1954, 7B=1947)

I'm glad you were able to use our card, these things were meant to be shared. grin
