Just an FYI, as I just got off the phone with regarding a couple of questions and had a live person answer this very question. Their spin on the PayPal issue is paraphrased as follows:
To prevent the "fly-by-night" sellers that take money and never deliver goods, they can protect the buyer through the PayPal payment process. If you don't want to accept PayPal (probably the credit card type of acceptance because bank accounts can be opened and closed easier than credit card accounts) and offer the buyer this means of protection, then you have to go through an qualification process or accept credit cards directly. They are doing this to protect the buyers.
As I said, just passing along some information.
