An old man"s view NCR
I miss the Nevada I first visited in 1960's. Many young people collecting chips now days never got to see what many of us would call "the good old days" of Reno, Vegas and the many small towns. One arm bandits that took real money or tokens, not titos, and had reels and handles. Single deck black jack where you would bet a silver dollar (yes real silver) and be treated like a freind come to visit. Actualy talking to a club owner not a corprate rep. lounge shows with name stars for the price of a drink. Sure the "mob" ran the Stardust, but it was a great place to enjoy your self not a factory to take your money as many are today. Don't get me wrong I still enjoy Vegas. I just miss the pictures of the girls and the gold display at the Golden Nugget. I miss the dogs playing poker at the Horseshoe. Benny Binion and the other owners would talk to people like they were freinds and guests not wallets and credit cards. Yes I still love Vegas but I miss "the good old days" Just one old mans view.
