If I were to purchase these chips and sell them to my 995 closest friends and now each one of them had one,would they still be rare?
At what point would they cease to be rare? After I sold 10...perhaps 50 ...maybe 100

If you were to say that these chips were impossible to get because you have them all, I would agree with that but the issue here is that the word RARE has been so misused on this board, many inccluding myself take exception of that term being used especially when it doesn't even remotely apply.

Look at ebay and type in the word rare and see what you come up with

Rarity isn't determined by who owns them but by how many exist.
