Big thanks to Susan, Christine and Sheldon, and Martha for all they did setting this up.
Thank you to Ken and Pam who brought a bunch of nice chips, I was able to add some off my watch list at good values. If you are interested in chips from down under, check out Ken’s site, it is an excellent and growing site on these chips.

Thank you to Mark Chipman for bringing so much. I hope all first time attendees are so great. Mark brought a cool framed display of Playboy chips, an assortment of chunks and a number of chips from the dig. He also brought a bunch of dice and decks of cards to give away. I also was very pleased to meet his son, who is now collecting ‘dog’ chips. Thanks Brett for all your help.
We also had nice input on Susan’s first convention, Sheldon’s cool felt, and some discussion of the joys of CCGTCC and the seminars at the convention. We had a nice large crowd, and the first hour was almost all trade session, and some of us wish there had been more time for that. We will need to plan on more time next time. The new leadership has already dropped the ball, we forgot to take a group photo, or get everybody’s names who attended.
I hope those that took pics include them with this. Especially the pic of the cake.
Speaking of new leadership, the new ‘Steering Committee’, hereinafter to be referred to as the ‘organization’ of the Chicagoland Chippers (now known as ‘the outfit’),are…
Riverboat Rick Pokracki will keep both sets of books.
Bill ‘the enforcer’ Lange will be our inside guy with the force.
Martha ‘Ma Cakes’ --- will serve as Secretary (she may seem sweet, but she scares me).
Susan Kozlowski will be the consiglieri
Aaron M. ‘lawdawg’ Peacock will be the ‘Boss’
The old regime of Sheldon ‘olwhatshisname’ and his moll, the lovely Christine will be retiring to Las Vegas where they will handle our interests in Sin City. There will be one more opportunity to settle up with them before they go. On September 7, the next Gathering will be held at the Smiths, they will distribute more info soon.
Yoose Guys really should consider coming and paying your respects…
OH by the way, I hear the old regime is having a big yard sale next weekend, contact them for details.
The games and auctions also went over great. And there were some nice prizes and items available. I really think the auction works so much better than asking everybody to chip in a few bucks to cover the costs of the facility. It is fun, and everybody feels they have shared in the experience.
We also discussed the new and old fundraising chip. We still have 5 of the cancer chips, and 3 of the Ho Chunk $25 chips left. We will begin selling the halloween/election chips with proceeds going to Chicago Area children's charities.
I think everybody had a good time, and I look forward to next gathering. Hope to see you there next time.
