First off, I will say that I have NOT followed this entire thread in its entirety and have NOT read every response to your post and am NOT condoning any selling activity that is not fair or above boards but I feel compelled to use this post as an example.
If I am to paraphrase your post and you hate to call that member out on the board (you are assuming because they sell chips that they are a member) then what did the eBay seller have to say BEFORE you made this board post? I think that it is only fair to that eBay seller that you either keep the converstion between you two or that you post their response to your inquiry in conjunction with your post rather than simply calling him out for something that may have been an honest mistake.
Secondly, I am NOT referring to this or any specific eBay offer but simply using your post as an example to make a statement that I see too many posts like this that presume that someone is being something less than above boards without allowing them a fair response. I'm not even going to go down the caveat emptor path when purchasing on eBay.
Lastly, I have found several "less than fair" offers to sell on eBay and contacted the seller questioning their offers. Some acknowledge my opinion by repsonding and some do not even respond but that is their choice as to how to hanlde my question(s). My choice is to not bid on their offers and ignore their future offerings.
I'm sure that I will receive more than a few repsonses to this post but welcome those who think that providing only one-side to a conversation is the best way to judge anything.
Regards,
Steve
