why the members are not privy to the behind the scenes dealings with next year's convention Sheldon? I don't think that it was an inappropriate question. Obviously members want to know. If it has been narrowed down to 2 or 3 places then why can't we know what those places are? We are not planning an invasion of some country.....so what's the big deal?
Let the members discuss what they think would be the best. Will there be disagreements...yep...but so what. At least they feel like they have some input. You want new members in this club right? Well I am still a new member and I want to know the whys and the wherefores of what goes on behind closed doors. Just because it has been going on this way forever doesn't mean that it is right or for that matter wrong.
The new members of today will hopefully be the BODS of the future right? SO? What is the big deal?
Why can't we know what is happening? Why can't we have a choice of where we want to go? Doesn't have to be a month long debate. It could even go something like this:
"Hello all members. After all of our negotiations,we have a choice of next year's convention either being at (examples only)let's say Orleans...Golden Nugget...Palms. All rates are basically the same(remember now..this is fiction) so...where would you all like to go? Emails are sent to all members for a vote. The vote has to happen within say...72 hours. Top vote getter wins. Those that don't vote do not have a reason to complain! That sounds so easy. Makes people feel like they have a say.
Is this just a bit too naive on my part? If so why?
