A casino was supposed to cull-out all foreign* chips and tokens. Chips could be returned to the correct casino for redemption, but tokens were supposed to be destroyed. (Gene, do I have that right?) Since "destruction" of metal tokens was NOT a simple thing to do, and resulted in additional costs, some casinos ended up just accumulating tokens. I suspect that Pop's Oasis, being on the way in and out of Vegas, probably got more than it's fair share of foreign tokens and maybe we are seeing the results of their accumulation now.

* Foreign, in Gaming Regulation terms, in Nevada, means chips and tokens from another casino.
