I was able to buy a couple of R-10 chips I honestly thought I would never have in my collection. Unless there has been a recent find, the $25 Joby's Monte Carlo is a legitimately scarce chip. The $100 Ta-Neva-Ho chip at the bottom is even more scarce than the Joby's chip. I was fortunate to win that one in the club auction. The picture is borrowed from James Campiglia's book.
It's not often that those of us who collect Tahoe are able to enjoy a new find of a old chip, but C.T. Rodgers recently came across some new (to the hobby) chips from the New Cal-Vada Lodge in Crystal Bay. He also had a roulette chip and a red $5 in addition to the $1 chip pictured.
The green $1 chip is from the South Tahoe Nugget.
But my happiest moment of the convention had nothing to do with chip purchases. It was seeing the Hall of Fame medallion around the neck of my friend Allan Anderson, who has taken our club magazine to new heights. Allan was one of the first people I met in the club when we both lived in Northern California, and he's a very deserving member of an elite part of our club.
