Janice and I were overwhelmed by the cards, ChipBoard postings, and phone calls received while I was in the hospital. I'd like to name and give credit to all but if I missed someone I would be forever sorry.
I offer a sincere, from the heart, note of appreciation to Brian "Mr Splashbar" Cashman for his many calls and postings on the ChipBoard. Brian is a very special friend to all of us. I did purchase a SplashBar chip and Brian has offered to take them around for me to trade so please see him.
A few brief details...
1. I was in the hospital for 42 days, twenty at Eisenhower Med Cntr and the rest at a rehabilitation facility.
2. The initial diagnosis was lung cancer but that soon changed into a relapse of what hospitalized me in January and February – thank you Supreme Being.
3. I lost thirty pounds and had become so weak I could only be in bed.
4. The rehab place put me on a fortified diet and the food was exceptional.
5. I was given PT three times a day both upper body and legs. I’m getting stronger with the PT and can walk short distances with a walker. My “sit-to-stand” strength needs a lot of work - did I say a Lot of Work?
I’d like to join the hot, sweaty masses in congratulating our new Membership officer; I think it was that Bedo guy, right?
Janice and I will sorely miss #16 and greeting everyone in attendance. We enjoy volunteering and working but will have to wait until #17. As with many others I’ll watch Greg’s 2008 Convention WebCam.
