I just got back from the PO. The manager says he went to a training seminar to learn about the "new" rules. He was then responsible for training the other 2 clerks (small PO) as well as the Postmaster. A flexible package is one that will bend 1/2". They were taught to use the scale as a platform, slide the envelope over 1/2 its length over the edge, and then bend it. If it flexes 1/2", it goes 1st Class Large Envelope.

His Mom is the clerk I mentioned in my previous post. She just grabs the envelopes in her hands and gently "flexes" them before putting them on the scale. She's quite a character, and claims I'm responsible for training all of them considering all of the Chips and Elongated Pennies I've been mailing recently.

My postmaster has also provided me with 2 booklets, 2 one page print-outs and a CD. ALL of this should be available to everyone because the US Post Office DOES want your business. Later - Buzz
