Hi Rick,
That’s great!!! Congratulations on saving so much! You did much better than I did.
My goal was to give up Tim Horton’s coffee. The times that I did break down, I had to pay a penalty to the piggy bank. I also had a little (very very little – lol) poker money to add. My total saved was $1195. Every penny of that amount is going to be spent on the convention floor. So if there are any dealers reading, please email me your table # if you have Canadian chips to sell.
I was able to make it to last years convention on the money I saved by quitting smoking. I am still smoke free, so that is another year of saving $4000. Yes the price of cigarettes in Canada is crazy. Unfortunately, the price of airfare has gone up and I chose to pay the CC & GTCC rate for 7 days rather than going with the comped room. So… the smoking money is … “up in smoke …
Thank you for holding the contest. As someone that actively collects Canadian chips, I will truly appreciate having the chips in my collection.
I look forward to meeting you. I will not be going to the banquette, so if you are still having a Subway sub in the hall way, I may join you –lol.
Cheers,
Frank
