We finally had a chance to take a quick trip somewhere close and come over to Dubuque,IA and learned that any and all riverboats do not have to be on water any more. They passed the law and I can't remember when the lady told me when. Anyway, they are building a nice new building for the Diamond Jo and it's right next to their parking lot. It will have a bowling alley on the top floor and a parking garage. Looks to be a nice size casino, probably to compete against the Dubuque Greyhound and Casino just a few miles away. This is to be ready this fall 2008. Just thought I'd pass this info on. Wonder what other riverboats would do in the future. Kind of surprised with the economy the way it is. Gas prices here are not as bad as in IL. Paid $3.73 for a gal here, but when I left home yesterday it was $4.15.
Not sure how far this gas situation will take us, but I dont see us getting any better I think for some time. Sorry I cant be at the convention and hope everyone has a great time. I was lucky enough to take this trip with Squirt and our budget. I know the airlines are getting hit every hard and heard about the luggage situation. Looks like this is how they are picking up on the rising fuel cost. I heard some people here talking about the luggage fee. Not to happy, but neither are we about gas.
Dont want to get into a big discussion about this as I have avoided posting anything on this situation politically. Nice job the guy in that big white house has done to this country and the whole entire world. It does start to get scary though.
Have a great day.....Pam
