My take on the Riv.
I don't really mind staying at the Riviera for convention. Like all Hotel-Casinos it has some things I like(great convention facilities, good Italian resturant, close to the Peppermill, good water pressure in the shower), it also has some things I dislike but will live with for a few days. What really makes me upset is the attitude they project towards the club and the business we give them. Gaming analysts predict that Las Vegas convention business will be off 10% next year, that is huge by their standards. They should be begging us to stay instead of threatening us. It's time to bite the bullit and move it. Believe me, it's just a matter of time before the site is a huge hole in the ground and a contract with a small organization like ours does not guarantee anything, they would have no problem closing 90 days prior to our convention or anyone elses if that is what the money dictates. I always support the club and the board, but it's time to do something. Just my opinion. Jim
