And the California Grand is in the ....

same location as other Card Rooms that date back to the 1850's, from what I've read. But it's changed names, owners and was even closed for a variety of reasons. It's the same for the Oaks Club, as it's now called. I think "continuous operation" is the key to the claim I made.

I don't think any of the current owners of these 3 old Card Rooms really care who's been around the longest; but the stories from each town's "local" newspaper try hard to make a point for each one being the oldest. And since I'm from San Bruno, please forgive me if I favor AJ's.
