NCR: PLEASE do me a favor....
I just got back from a few days in Vegas. Saw many old friends and made some new ones.
I'm now officially member #245 of the Casino Chips & Gaming Tokens Collectors Club of Southern Nevada...cool!
I can't wait until the convention!
While driving around Las Vegas (and having a wonderful dinner with Dawn S. at Casa Di Amore on E. Tropicana), I noticed a soft thumping noise coming from the rear of my car when I came to a stop at lights. I made a note to get the noise checked out when I returned home and didn't worry too much more about it.....figured my brakes were starting to wear.
Just had the car checked today and almost fainted when they called me. Seems that one of my rear tires was actually splitting (separating) on the side wall on the back side of the tire (where I couldn't see it). I'm just EXTREMELY lucky that the tire did not blow while I was driving at 75+ mph on my way home up I-15 from LV to Utah (200+ miles).
Bless my Pontiac dealer, he has agreed to release my car to me tomorrow - but ONLY if I take it directly to a tire shop.....He has even offered to drive it to the tire shop himself - it's that unsafe to drive!
Amazing since there is literally no "tire wear" on the tread of these tires.
These tires are only 2 years old (Goodyear Eagles)...and since this is the second set of tires I've had on the car (one Eagle tire blew a year after I got the car, but I was not going fast and I simply figured it was a defective tire) I WILL NOT be putting any Goodyear tires on it ever again!
Soooooo, PLEASE do me a favor, and go out and check under your family and loved ones vehicles...look at the back side of your tires - it could save a life!
I'm very fortunate to still have mine...
