We here in the USA are about to nominate a black man for our highest office. We have been slowly exorcising our racial differences quite publicly over the past 5 decades.
Are you telling me there is none of that in Canada? I have a friend who used to own a club in Welland Ontario. I met quite a few of 'em at the bar there. What about the French Canadians and some of their attitudes towards their fellow countrymen? I am not expert on these affairs,
and I would never go as far as to believe that these examples speak to nature of all Canadians.
I do know people are people. They come in all sorts of different sizes, shapes, colors and attitudes. To say "you guys down there are this, while we are that"....well that is what starts all the trouble in the first place. Sure, some folks are like that. Most are not.
Many West Virginians are hard-core blue collar folks who will strongly support the candidate who is friendliest to labor (Clinton). If you stand outside ANY polling place ANYWHERE you fill find someone willing to say something stupid. That is the media's fault, because the reality is too boring to air.
As for myself, I am probably going to vote for McCain, and your right, Obama's color does scare me.....he is GREEN! I think he will make a fine President someday, but I want him to season a little bit more.
And I am very proud that I live in a country that is not afraid to question our own nature so publicly, and ultimately, try its best to give EVERYONE a fair shake.
