is under investigation by PETA for the death of the horse. They also want to know if the jockey knew the horse was hurting before he crossed the finish line. He is a new young apprentice jockey, 19 I think. NOt only did PETA ask fore this investigation, they wrote to Churchill and the racing board to stop whipping horses and make a better surface to run on like other tracks have done. Not sure how far they will get, but the whipping has some rules in certain tracks that you can only whip a horse so many times down the stretch.
