The chip that Ron and many other PB AC collectors are looking for is the 'live $500 chip' that was first used by Playboy. Aside from its basic purple color, there is a difference between the live chip and the backup chip which was found in the dig. The difference is the color of the letters, logo and design around the CIC (loosely resembling a wheel) are distinctly different. By Atlantic City regulations the backup chips are required to be distinctly different than the chips they are replacing. The 'live chip' color is distinctly light purple and the backup chip is distinctly light blue or green.
Information I obtained from a person who participated in the dig up to the time diggers were barred from digging is that Green Duck apparently dumped the backup chips into the hole first and then dumped live chips last before pouring the concrete. This observation was made by the digger because "after the six-foot thick concrete slab was lifted you could see lots and lots of 'live chips' imbedded on the bottom of the slab".
IMO today the 'live PB $500 chip' is a key chip in the PB AC set and worth more than $5.00. Best regards,
